If you have a non-urgent question for your doctor (and are an established patient here), please call our above number, and ask to speak with your doctor via his/her medical assistant. We will want to know your name, date of birth, nature of your question or medical need, phone number and best time you can be reached. Your chart and appropriate paperwork or test results can be gathered, and your doctor (or medical assistant, as needed) will contact you as soon as possible. Or, better still, make a follow up appointment to discuss your issue in greater detail, face to face.

Even when the clinic doors are closed, there is always a physician available by phone. You can reach the on-call physician by calling the above office number. You will be routed to our call service, who will contact the physician with your message. The on-call physician will return your call as soon as possible. We do ask that routine follow-up questions for chronic health problems be directed to your usual primary care doctor during regular office hours, as your regular doctor usually knows your health best. Also, even if you happen to have your doctor's cell or home number available, we ask that you call through the on-call service, as this is the most reliable way to reach the on-call doctor.

Please be aware that we do not do routine medication refills after hours. Also, no prescriptions for narcotics, sedatives, antibiotics, or other higher risk medications will be done after hours.

Further, please be aware that there may be a charge for a call back from our on call physician. If you have a particularly complicated issue that needs addressed and discussed, a nominal fee may be charged. This is to offset the cost associated with our answering service, transcription service, and physician time. Further, we firmly believe that health issues are best addressed in person, face to face in the office, and so an on call conversation acts as a short term replacement for that preferred format of a face to face sit down visit with your doctor. Obviously, your health is our first and foremost concern, and we are here to address any of your health issues, whenever they might arise.
