History/Education
Leasa Garrett was born and raised in Iowa. She obtained her Associates in Science and Nursing from St. Luke's College of Nursing while simultaneously attending Dordt University to obtain her Bachelor's degree in Nursing. She worked as a traveling nurse and worked in critical care, PACU, and transplant before getting married, having children, and settling down with her family here in Northern Colorado. After putting down roots, Leasa became the Director of Nursing for a community clinic focused on sexual health and pregnancy. She then returned to school at the University of Cincinnati where she earned a Master's degree in Nursing and obtained her certification from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioner's as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Professional Interests
Leasa enjoys building lasting relationships with patients while providing them with evidence based, whole person, and holistically minded care. She believes in mental, spiritual, and emotional health as well as treating the physical person. She enjoys caring for patient's of all ages and collaborates with her patient's to determine their goals when providing care and making health plans. She completed her capstone project during her Master's education in anxiety and depression in primary care and believes in helping patient's feel their best emotionally as well as physically. She also enjoys minor procedures, cardiac care, pediatrics, and reproductive health.
Personal Interests
Leasa enjoys spending time with her husband, three biological kids, and as a foster mom, any other kids currently residing in their home. She has a photography business on the side and loves indulging in activities that provide a creative outlet. Her family spends time boating, camping, riding horses, attending her kids activities, and socializing with friends. Her family also enjoy making trips back to her husband's home country of New Zealand when they can!
